Paul Smith - President

Paul Smith started his Law Enforcement career with the City of Cincinnati Police Explorer unit. After attending the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy, he accepted a position with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, where he was active with the honor guard and special response team (SRT.) Paul, also was actively involved as an instructor in their corrections academy.

Paul started his road patrol career with Arlington Heights and Forest Park Police Departments. Paul, became the Senior Traffic Officer and in 2004 was named Officer of the year.

In 2006 Paul worked with the Morrow Police Department in Warren County, Ohio where he worked in a capacity of undercover narcotics / investigations. Paul was successful in identifying illegal narcotic production, and sale. In less than one year, four narcotic search warrants were drafted and authorized, based on the intelligence he provided. From 2002 to 2007, this number of search warrants was un-heard of within the jurisdiction limits of Morrow, Ohio.

Paul decided to resign from the department in 2008 to focus on growing PLS Protective Services, and his newborn daughter. Paul is still currently pursuing his Law Enforcement career with another agency, and will shortly begin additional certifications with ASIS International.

Ryan Hunt - Majority Owner & Managing Partner

Ryan Hunt started his Law Enforcement career with the U.S Coast Guard in 1994/95. While still on active duty, and assigned to a weapons training division, Ryan started consulting and training the Portsmouth, Va. Sheriff Office. Ryan trained all current and new deputies in weaponry, combat shooting, and defensive tactics. After many months of this partnership Ryan became a reserve deputy sheriff and started working one on one with them. Ryan worked with the watercraft patrol unit, training division, and the Criminal Apprehension Unit.

In 1999, Ryan decided to relocate back to Ohio to pursue his Law Enforcement career. Ryan became OPOTA certified in 1999, and worked for various departments. Ryan quickly learned that the competition and politics run deeper in Ohio Law Enforcement than Virginia. In 2000 Ryan accepted a position with the Morrow Police Department, Warren County, Ohio. Ryan was successful in moving from initially staring as a Reserve Officer to a final rank of Sergeant/Officer in Charge. Ryan was solely responsible for the day to day operations of the police department, supervised up to 17 Officers, and oversaw all investigations from undercover narcotic investigations, to property and personal crimes. In 2008 Ryan resigned from this position to focus on growing PLS Protective Services, keeping his wife happy,...smile, and furthering his career.

Ryan is currently in the process to being certified as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), and a Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) Both of these certifications are highly recognized in Global Security. Some other certifications and awards that Ryan has achieved are: Outstanding Investigator, 2006 (Warren County Prosecutors Office), Evidence Technician, Certified Field Training Officer, Certified Surveillance Operator, Certified in Document Analysis, Small Arms Instructor, TASER X26 Instructor, Completed "Bullet Proof" mind courses, and many more.

Casey Marquette - Forensic Consultant

Casey Marquette is a computer forensics expert based in the Greater Cincinnati area. Casey currently leads all technical investigations for a fortune 50 company. These investigations have included cases involving drug diversion, credit card fraud, inappropriate email, pornography, malicious software, piracy, regulatory compliance issues (i.e., Sox, HIPPA), and employee theft. Casey also performs recurring risk assessments of the security controls for the applications, infrastructure, and facilities supporting critical business functions, both internal to the company and at external locations such as those of partners and vendors. He serves as a subject matter expert in client facing activities related to security controls and compliance activities.

Prior to his work in the private sector, Casey worked in law enforcement. He has over 11 years of experience conducting investigations for the private sector and law enforcement. Casey graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BS in Criminal Justice. He holds several certifications that validate his skills as a security professional: EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE) certification, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification, GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), GIAC Certified Incident Handler(GCIH), and the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification.
